If you’re among the thousands about to be subjected to the FCC’s new Online Public Inspection File (OPIF) system, listen up. The Commission has announced that it will be presenting its webinar on how that system works on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. (ET). As we suggested last month when the FCC set the date (June 24, 2016) on which the OPIF will kick in, checking out this instructional webinar would likely be a very good idea. According to the public notice cluing us all in to the date of the webinar, it will be conducted live in the FCC’s Meeting Room at the Portals and will be streamed online (you can find the link on this page of the FCC’s website). The Commission has not provided the usual registration instructions for those who might want to attend in person, but it does provide contact information (by phone at 1-877-480-3201 or 1-717-338-2824 (TTY), online at https://esupport.fcc.gov/request.htm) for those seeking help with the OPIF process.

Again, it looks like the new OPIF interface may take some getting used to, even for those TV licensees who have been uploading their public file materials to the Commission’s broadcast public inspection file system introduced back in 2012. The webinar should shed some useful light on the process.
